Becky Thomson (MIPS) has enjoyed a wide-ranging career working in location film and TV sound for over 30 years. She has recorded six fully financed UK/EU feature films and many HETV dramas.
Her extensive experience on documentaries equips her to be flexible and find solutions in today’s high pressure drama productions. She’s appreciated by producers for saving on the post-production budget due to her good communications with post and her judgement during shooting. Becky also works in sound design so keeps up to date on software developments which inform her on-set decisions as a location mixer.
Becky trained in location sound on a series shot on film at Shepperton Studios, London, then built her experience in TV and film in Scotland before returning to London as Boom Operator on drama series ‘The Bill’, a role for which she was repeatedly booked over 10 years.
Becky went on to mix several prime time ‘specials’ of ‘The Bill’ before moving on to record feature drama, mainly in Scotland.
